Josh Flanders

Josh Flanders

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Josh founded Flanders Consulting with a simple belief: that great organizations are built by great teams. With over two decades of experience in organizational development and team building, he has helped many leaders create workplaces where people genuinely want to stay and grow. Josh Flanders has worked in the nonprofit industry for over 25 years as a founder, Executive Director, Development Director, consultant, and board member. He holds a Masters from Northwestern University and a BA from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Josh began his nonprofit career founding the Festival for Cinema of the Deaf, the first of its kind, in 2000. During his career Josh oversaw development of film festivals and nonprofits throughout N. America, London, Moscow, Milan, and Toronto. Josh is a speaker and performer, as well as a graduate of comedy and music studies at The Second City Conservatory in Chicago. His writing has been featured in the Chicago Reader and other publications. Josh also works as a producer and writer of documentary films with his company Big Cat Films.

Sheri Flanders

Sheri Flanders

Founder & principal consultant

Sheri is a senior level business leader with a deep wealth of experience in creative project management, design, fundraising, performance, media, and journalism. Sheri taught on the faculty at the Second City Training Center in the improv and music departments, and graduated from their conservatory program. As a performer and arts professional, Sheri has taught at the Robin Hood Improv Festival in Nottingham, Englad, has performed at the Black Women in Comedy Laff Festival in NYC, and was featured in the WTTW Chicago documentary Inventing Improv. During her work in nonprofit development, Sheri worked for organizations such as Poetry Foundation and Lookingglass Theatre. She secured nationally competitive grants from funders such as the Natioinal Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Sundance Institute. Sheri began her path in business through retail management and fashion design, working for retailers such as Ann Taylor Loft, Claire's Boutique corporate offices, Perry Ellis corporate offices, and others.
